3D configurator sets new standards in the visualisation of planning processes
Highly integrated digital planning tools save time, lower process costs and ensures error-free follow-up processes from cost calculation to delivery. The use of 3D configurators also enables the solutions to be visualised and experienced and forms the basis for the complete digitalisation of the supply chain.
The main challenge in developing future-oriented solutions for intelligent building technology lies in how they can be planned and installed in a better way, more simply and, above all, without errors. With the implementation of 3D configurators, Hager Group sets new standards in the visualisation of planning processes and at the same time closes the gap in complete digitisation of the supply chain.
After a pilot project for the office staff and a system configurator, the implementation of the 3D configurator for three product lines followed, which included columns and underfloor supply units as well as the Easybloc connection system. By the end of the year, the set-up of configurators with 3D visualisations for a number of other solutions should be completed - such as for the ELCOM door intercoms and the Hager Consolidation Box, where for the first time, a very high level of integration into production is planned.
Etienne Dock, Senior Vice President of Digital & Information, summarises the advantages: “With its brands, Hager, Berker, Elcom, Daitem and Diagral, the product range of the Hager Group is varied and very complex in terms of advice because of its complexity. The 3D configurator enables easy planning and thanks to the visualisations, the user immediately gets a realistic impression of what the product looks like - true to the original, right down to the selected material type. Time-consuming coordination and handling physical product samples are now a thing of the past.“
The 3D online configurators are based on the application-oriented principle of drag-and-drop and ensures error-free configuration and a simple, media-free follow-up process in SAP. In addition, a price can be determined quickly and easily. The advantages of 3D visualisation apply across the entire supply chain and make the strengths of digitalisation tangible for everyone involved. In addition to in-house users, such as sales and field service or the planning department, Hager Group customers, such as electrical installers and planning offices. benefit from this.
