#OceanCalling conference on maritime microplastic pollution

Fabrice Amedeo's has been sailing his IMOCA boat, Nexans - Arts & Fenêtres for two years whilst using the oceanographic sensor installed on his vessel to collect data on microplastic pollution in the sea. On Wednesday, you can join the presentation of the first results by scientists and Amedeo by livestream.

Which story does the data tell?

During the last Vendée Globe, Fabrice Amedeo, skipper and former journalist, collected 53 samples with the microplastic sensor on board his boat.

In partnership with teams from Ifremer Brest, the University of Bordeaux and the IRD, these samples were analyzed to determine the level of microplastics in the oceans. The teams of scientists, accompanied by Fabrice Amedeo and his partners, will give a preview of their findings to the general public at 10.30am on Wednesday 30 March.
