Municipal Library and Historical Archive
Renovation of an old 17th century hospital as a Municipal Library and Historical Archive in Baiona by the Murado and Elvira studio.
The Madrid study "Murado & Elvira" has led the rehabilitation of the Municipal Library and Historical Archive of Baiona, which is located in the old Sancti Spiritus Hospital, built in the 16th century, in front of the old Collegiate Church of Santa María. It is a two-storey building embedded in the slope of the old town.
The renovation aims to organise the new library and archive program in a clear and simple way. From a heritage point of view, its ambition is to recover the lost prominence of the unique outdoor spaces, patio and garden, due to the numerous transformations undergone over time.
The intervention included the white Berker R.3 sockets and switches, which applied to the maple wood casing, plays a perfect combination.
