Modern Power Distribution at SALMATEC GmbH

Raising the bar in power distribution
SALMATEC GmbH, based in Gödenstorf, Germany, is a family-owned company with 130 employees and a global customer base. The company develops and manufactures pelletizing systems and wear parts for the entire pelletizing industry.
Following a major fire in May 2023 that completely destroyed one of its production halls, SALMATEC took the opportunity to rebuild and modernise its energy distribution system in the remaining halls, meeting today’s higher standards for operational safety, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.

Reliable systems for seamless operations
A key factor in the project’s success was the precise delivery and installation of all equipment during ongoing operations. SALMATEC now relies on Hager’s univers N high-current power distribution system with HW1 circuit breakers to ensure operational safety and outage protection.
As part of the process, the electrical planning company GIG mbH used the Hagercad Calc grid calculation software to standardize all distribution systems across the site on a single platform. The result: simplified maintenance, improved system availability, and a significant boost in safety.
Eike Marten, Managing Director, GIG mbH

“For us, system safety is the top priority – which means both personnel protection and operational availability. Our new power distribution setup ensures exactly that, thanks to reliable switching and security technology.”
Christopher Gerdau, Head of Operations and Production, SALMATEC GmbH

Smart and sustainable energy management
To further improve the energy efficiency of its electrical infrastructure, SALMATEC will rely on Hager’s agardio.manager. This smart energy monitoring tool enables detailed tracking and analysis of energy consumption – providing valuable insights to sustainably reduce production costs.
As part of the site’s modernization, a new charging park featuring six witty share stations was installed, fully aligned with the requirements defined by the project owner.
