Modernity alongside safety for Royal Jaarbeurs

Scaling reliability for millions of visitors
Founded in 1916, the Utrecht-based Royal Jaarbeurs promotes trade and industry by organizing diverse international events. It creates meaningful encounters through dedication, innovation, and sustainability, voted best conference venue on multiple occasions.
To ensure safe and stable energy supply during major events, Jaarbeurs needed the support of Hager, to replace aging infrastructure without disrupting ongoing operations. Fast execution, high reliability, and custom solutions were essential.
Koninklijke Jaarbeurs: New Distribution Technology & Collaboration
Reliable systems for seamless operations
Hager dismantled the old distribution boards from the Beatrix Theater at the request of Building Services Amersfoort and installed new ones using a tailored design. The efficient collaboration resulted in the expansion of the partnership where additional halls were upgraded in a similar fashion.
To handle load fluctuations, Hager integrated two busbar systems with a switch selecting the active transformer. The sectioned system was routed via scaffolding, connected, tested, and planned between events with Hager’s engineering support from a Swiss production unit.
“Hager was ready to deliver on a tight schedule thanks to an easy-to-use material. They saw challenges as opportunities for new solutions, not as problems – even while the building had to remain in use.”
Henri van Nieuwenhuizen, National Senior project manager at Building Services Amersfoort
“The trade fair center had very specific requirements for the distribution boards. This particular requirement was met by Hager through an intensive collaboration and engineering.”
