An electrically safe vacation home
In the north of Bohuslän, at the end of the Åbyfjord, is the vacation home of the Nadj family.
Originally dating from the 1950s, the building was acquired by the family when it needed extensive renovation. In order to create a modern and safe vacation home, the family decided to replace all electrical material. Safety was a key consideration for them.
Renovation project of the Nadj family
When we met the Nadj family, they had almost finished their year-long renovation project. All that was missing was an attefall house and some minor plastering here and there. It was quite a different picture when they bought the house: the original 1950s building measured only 40 square meters, had a moldy toilet in the basement and the electrical system was not earthed.
To update the more than 50-year-old electrical system and provide maximum electrical safety, the Nadj family consulted an electrician. He recommended replacing all the old electrical materials and installing a central system equipped with modern products. In addition to residual current and miniature circuit breakers with QuickConnect, personal protection circuit breakers, arc fault detectors and surge protectors were installed in the home's electrical control center.
Switch systems that match the interior design
Since this house is only for occasional use, the family was keen to minimize any chance of electrical accidents. Therefore, switches and outlets were also replaced. To match the interior design of the house, they chose the 1930 series from Hager.
