The Peter and Luise Hager Foundation: Honouring Young Talent in the Electrical Trade
Every two years, the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation awards the nationwide Master Founder Prize to three successful founders in the German electrical trade. With the award, each winner not only receives a certificate but also 10,000 euros. The competition is intended to promote the electrical trade, master craftsman qualifications and the founding spirit, while at the same time continuing the legacy left by the founders of the Hager Group.
Tobias Hans, Minister President of Saarland, has assumed the patronage for the 2022 round. A seven-member master craftsman jury evaluates the submissions of the master craftsmen and women according to the criteria of courage, business concept and economic viability in conjunction with a sense of entrepreneurial public spirit, personnel management and training strategy as well as civic commitment. The jury is made up of renowned personalities from politics, business and the skilled trades, including state secretaries, board members of associations such as the Association of Electrical Wholesalers (VEG) or the Federal Guild Association of Electrical and Information Technology Trades (ZVEH), representatives of chambers of skilled trades and the Hager Group itself.

With this prize, the foundation is strengthening the master electrician as a founder. Applications are open to registered master craftsmen in the electrical trade who have registered their craft business in the past five years or who are a successor. The next round of invitations to tender will begin in March 2022 - regular with the opening of Light + Building. Anyone interested in taking part can then apply at hagerstiftung.de/meister. The award ceremony is expected to take place on Wednesday, 9 November 2022, as part of belektro 2022 in Berlin.
