Employees create a well-rounded cause for social sustainability

cent donation helps hundreds of people

Non-profit organizations make important contributions in every region - not only around Obernai and Blieskastel. That is why the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation supports many charitable organizations with the help of employee donations – with a project we call "A Rounded Thing".

An employee of Hager Group initiated the project for Germany in 2014. As of 2016, colleagues from France can also participate: Every employee can donate the decimal amount of their monthly salary. The amount collected is tripled by the foundation at the end of each year and donated to charitable organizations near Hager Group locations.

Support for sick children, families and women in need

From 2019 to 2021, donations from Germany went to the “Tafeln” food banks in Homburg and Pirmasens, as well as the Balthasar children's and youth hospice in Olpe. The Pirmasens Tafel alone provides food and other items to 350 families each week - about 1,800 people. The donations are particularly valuable to these and other organizations, especially in these pandemic-dominated times. PirmasenseTafel chairman Gerhard Herrmann expressed his gratitude: "I am glad that we can always count on this donation, because without the major donors we would not be able to maintain our operations".

In France, the Guyemer School in Strasbourg has recently received a therapeutic pony riding lesson for a school class. Also in Strasbourg, young people with motor disabilities at the ARAHM (Association Régionale l'Aide aux Handicapés Moteurs) produced a film, and for financially needy students the Foundation provided 4,000 Euros with an additional 6,000 Euros from Hager Group through the Fondation UNISTRA-Strasbourg. Students received emergency assistance checks of 50 Euros each when needed.

The foundation would like to thank all employees for their commitment and is happy to hear from anyone who would like to support the project in the future.
