Hager Group Sustainability Week Concludes with Great Success

06.10.2023

For a week, Hager Group dedicated itself to sustainability: workshops, presentations, and discussions informed and raised awareness among employees about a sustainable future.

From September 20th to 28th, as part of the UN's European Sustainable Development Week, Hager Group seized the opportunity to raise awareness among its employees on the subject of sustainability. The company registered over 700 participations in its more than twenty events. The focus was on the three core areas of the company's sustainability strategy: environment, ethics, and employees.

Matthieu Alexandropoulos, Director of Sustainability at Hager Group, emphasized the significance of the week: "We are in the process of making our company more sustainable. The Sustainability Week allows us to sensitize and deepen our employees' understanding of the topic in an engaging and informative manner."

The highlight was an exciting panel discussion on innovation and sustainability, open to the public. It was live-streamed on LinkedIn and Teams, attracting a broad audience. The discussion emphasized that innovation is the key to a more sustainable world, whether in technology or processes. However, it was also clear that many innovative solutions already exist. But there is a significant hurdle: habits and old thought patterns that make it difficult for us to adapt to new circumstances and challenges. A transformation is necessary. This is precisely where Hager Group's Sustainability Week came into play.

The company actively supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and has committed to doing so throughout its entire value chain. The Sustainability Week promoted further development, awareness, and transparency, laying the foundation for the company to further align with sustainability, identify optimization opportunities, and transform processes.

The recently published Sustainability Report of Hager Group illustrates how the company supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Further information can be found in the report itself.
