The Route of Industry: showcasing our professions!

11. April 2025

Last week marked the very first edition of Les Routes de l’Industrie, a project aimed at bringing together companies from Central Alsace and introducing the world of industry to a wide audience. Let’s take a look back at this week full of discovery!

3 days of open doors for the public

To give everyone the chance to explore and rediscover careers in industry, Hager Group opened its doors for three days. The programme included a tour of our Obernai facilities, a conference on our field of activity, and factory visits. In just a few days, more than 100 spots were booked: high school students, apprentices, professionals in career transition, and curious minds of all kinds came to discover the industrial world—proof of the growing interest in the sector.

According to Bounekhan Chayavong, Visitor Experience Specialist, events like these are a great opportunity to change the way people view industry: “Before joining Hager Group, I never imagined that someone with my background could fit into the electrical industry. It’s through these kinds of initiatives that we can break stereotypes and show that there’s a place for everyone in the industrial world.”

Gauthier Gabriel, Human Resources Business Partner for the Obernai site, adds: “Industry is a fascinating world, and it’s our responsibility to share our professions and expertise. By opening our doors, we open up new perspectives and inspire new vocations. Every encounter, every conversation helps break down preconceptions and shows that industry is a forward-looking sector, accessible to all—regardless of their background.”

A closing day focused on sharing

The week concluded with an exhibition day, bringing together all the participating companies. Over 600 people visited the 120 exhibitors present that day. The event featured company presentations, apprentice testimonials, and talks on various topics. It also gave Hager Group the opportunity to address key industry themes such as skills development, the role of artificial intelligence, and the importance of cybersecurity in today’s industrial landscape.

At the Hager Group booth, circuit breakers and other components drew visitors’ attention, offering a concrete illustration of our professions.

Finally, Pascal Procureur, Industrial Director of the Obernai site and co-founder of the AC:TIONS network, concluded: “With the AC:TIONS network, the industrial community in Alsace came together to offer a unique event in the region of Central Alsace. A total of 30 companies opened their doors to the public, united by the shared ambition to connect, exchange, and showcase the richness, diversity, and dynamism of our industrial ecosystem.”

Thanks to the success of this event, the second edition is already in the works—scheduled for 2027!
