Cove Geylang is a shophouse, located on Geylang Road, Singapore. A shophouse is a traditional Singapore building with a shop on the ground floor and living quarters above. Known for their narrow, deep structure and distinctive architectural details, they hold significant heritage value and are often modernised for contemporary use.
Renovated in August 2023, Cove Geylang Shophouse was transformed into a unique co-living space with an industrial-inspired interior that exudes robust charm. The 431 (m2) building includes 17 rooms, ranging from en-suites to studios, designed to offer practical living solutions.
Client Requirements: Durability and Infrastructure Upgrade
Cove, a co-living company managing over 300 properties in Singapore, Indonesia, and South Korea, oversees this property. Cove’s primary requirement was to upgrade the existing infrastructure while ensuring maximum durability. The design focused on providing a sturdy finish that met the aesthetic preferences of the client and ensured long-term usability with minimal wear and tear.

Hager's Sollysta Metalclad wiring accessories was specifically chosen for this project, combining durability with aesthetic appeal. The industrial-style design of the Sollysta Metalclad switches and sockets perfectly complemented the modern industrial-inspired interior of this co-living space.
Made from specially hardened steel, the back boxes maintain their rigidity while the faceplates overlap a lip on the back box for a smooth, high-quality finish. These accessories enhance the overall look of the shophouse while providing reliable functionality.
