International Motor Show (IAA)

The International Motor Show (IAA) took place in Frankfurt from 12th to 22nd September 2019. This year, it presented itself as a platform for the ongoing changes in mobility and drew in more than half a million visitors. Among them were interested end consumers, journalists and visiting professionals from all over the world. Alongside car manufacturers and suppliers, also in attendance this year were tech companies such as Microsoft and Google, various mobility service providers and numerous start-ups.

Hager Group was also represented at the trade fair for five days as part of a joint stand organised by the ‘saarland.innovation & standort’ association. Our colleagues from the Innovation Department used the opportunity to present a new development for charging electrically powered vehicles called Hager aCS. They received positive feedback.

“Our aim was to generate visibility for this Hager innovation in order to make potential future partners and customers aware of the charging concept,” explains Ulrich Reiner, Innovation Manager E-Mobility & Energy at Hager Group. “The Hager aCS concept is a completely new type of interface between the vehicle and the charging infrastructure which can only work with the support of multiple sectors. The transition from an idea to mass production can only be achieved if we are able to win the trust of the automotive industry. The many positive and open discussions that we had with international car manufacturers and suppliers who were interested by our idea and sought us out at our stand show that we were at the right place at the right time with the right solution. We are highly motivated for the next stages of development.”
