Hager Group sponsor of 42 Mulhouse Grand Est

16 January 2024

By joining the circle of partners at 42 Mulhouse Grand Est, we reaffirm our commitment to skills development, inclusion, and the integration of students or employees moving into a thriving field: shaping the talents of tomorrow in digital professions.

Under this new sponsorship agreement, Hager Group will support the development of 42 Mulhouse Grand Est over the next three years.

42 Mulhouse is an extremely innovative computer programming school with a peer-to-peer pedagogy based on autonomy and mutual assistance among learners. It is a member of the 42 network which runs 54 campuses in 31 countries.

The trifold objective is to:

- Contribute to the development of future generations in the digital field.

- Facilitate the integration of young individuals without qualifications and employees undergoing career transitions.

- Recruit specialised and sought-after profiles.

Inclusive recruitment to give everyone a chance

Currently, Hager Group employs 370 IT professionals, 210 of which work in the Rhine region. Over the past three years, we welcomed nearly 40 IT interns who can look forward to numerous opportunities which regularly arise in a field where we hire over 90 colleagues each year. They work in application and software development, cybersecurity, IT systems & networks, data & artificial intelligence, etc.

"Our business, technology, and products are evolving ever faster. We need new skills and expertise to support our growth. With this partnership, we support an emerging generation and also assist in reorienting young people under 26 supported by local employment agencies as well as the career transition of job seekers. A beautiful project of which we are very proud," says Etienne Dock, Digital & Information Senior VP.

"A region without talent cannot remain competitive, and it is essential for our local Alsatian industry – across all sectors – to find talents with digital skills. We are delighted to have Hager Group as a partner for our campus and our commitment to giving the Rhine region a prominent place in industry and digital. This support reinforces and recognizes the quality of our training offer, which values technical excellence, autonomy, and the ability to work collaboratively. Our concept, unique in Alsace, promotes inclusion and equal opportunities with training that is open 24/7, free, without academic prerequisites, and without age restrictions," adds Frédéric Créplet, President of 42 Mulhouse Grand Est.

Since its inauguration in November 2021, the campus has received more than 4,800 applications and has already welcomed over 300 students in three cohorts. More than 80% of these are job seekers undergoing career transitions.

A signing event focused on discovery

To mark the signing of the sponsorship agreement, the management team of 42 Mulhouse Grand Est and around twenty students were invited to the Hager Forum to discover our company and the jobs we offer. The program included a Q&A session, a tour of our factories, and a meeting with our IT teams to better understand the great variety of our projects.

A student from 42 Mulhouse also shared her experience as an intern in our Development Team: "I joined the 42 Mulhouse campus in 2022 as part of a professional retraining - from Civil Engineering to IT. During my internship at Hager Group, my main mission was to develop a chatbot for the group's clients – this challenge allowed me to both apply my knowledge and learn new programming languages. The support of my mentors and colleagues truly made a difference, as did the TAI community – interns and apprentices at Hager Group – which was a real asset in terms of integration. Thanks to the entire team for the exceptional experience during my first internship, and I look forward to starting my apprenticeship in cybersecurity at Hager Group next March."
