World Youth Skills Day: Building a Sustainable and Supportive Future Together

Today, on the occasion of the United Nations World Youth Skills Day, a day that resonates deeply with our mission, we highlight the importance of developing young talents' skills. Developing the Skills Needed for the Electric World of Tomorrow

Each year, we welcome nearly 350 interns and apprentices worldwide. We are committed to providing them with a
rewarding professional experience by assigning them meaningful tasks. At Hager Group, we believe equipping young people with the skills necessary for sustainable development, employment, and entrepreneurship is crucial for the future.

In this way, we prepare our youth to tackle the challenges of tomorrow,” says Pascal Charre, Group Quality and Environment Vice President.

“At Hager Group, I develop my skills daily alongside an experienced and supportive mentor, who entrusts me with varied tasks and allows me to work independently. During my internship, my main mission was to find innovative and more sustainable materials for designing our products. Thanks to the positive results of my research, I secured a work-study position, which allowed me to transition from a technical role to a more business-oriented role. This way, I can legitimately exploit and address the sustainable solutions discovered during my internship, making the most of these innovations in my new role,” shares Pierre Louis Frund, Innovation Engineer Intern.

In addition to impactful missions, we offer students access to additional resources through our online training platform: Hi! University. This online university has even won the Gold Medal for “Best New Corporate Universities” at the Global CCU Awards and the Gold Trophy for “Learning Organization” at U-Spring 2023.

We endeavor to cultivate a wide range of skills in our young talents: professional, personal, methodological, and social. We strongly believe that "practical know-how is key" and thus emphasize hands-on learning. To accomplish this, we offer quality support from seasoned trainers and clear learning objectives to steer their advancement.

We provide various activities to boost the well-being of our young talents. In Germany, we host health seminars and team-building events. In the Netherlands, interns receive personalized support from a dedicated mentor. In France, our young talents become part of a dynamic community of interns and apprentices, participating in professional events and informal outings to nurture interactions and relationships.
