La Bastide de Gordes Hotel

With an exceptional location at the summit of 12th-century fortifications in a village which is among the most beautiful in the whole of France (according to the Plus Beaux de France association), La Bastide de Gordes hotel is an upscale establishment. Sitting on a rock face, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Luberon Natural Regional Park. With elaborately furnished, sophisticated rooms, a Michelin-starred restaurant, a spa, panoramic swimming pools, a steam room and a gym, the facilities are in keeping with the luxurious setting. Elegance and originality go hand in hand with modern fittings.

For Hager and its partners, the challenge was above all a technical one: to renovate an 8,000-square-metre five-star hotel and a 1,000-square-metre extension within a very short time frame, while it was still in use and while respecting its exceptional architecture. For this complex project, in which the different stages follow one after the other and sometimes even overlap, the Hager teams have played the role of advisers, office designers and coordinators as well as electricians. The scale of the electrical installations bears witness to the unusual character of the operation: power cabinets, circuit breakers, networks and light fixtures. Hager has determined the power and design of the power cabinets directly with the customer. The company has also designed the main low-voltage 1,000-ampere switchboard. Building the future by highlighting the past is the challenge that agents of this pilot project have had to work with on a daily basis, driven by the desire to create an exception to the rule.
