Dockland regeneration projects often offer cities the opportunity to be architecturally creative. Navigation Square 1 in Cork is no exception. As phase 1 of a 4 phase project, this Grade A listed building is part of an  ambitious office expansion plan. Designed to reflect both modernity and the dockland’s marine history, this 7 story business and communications centre offers panoramic views of the port from its flexibly designed offices.  Klik 7 range from Hager delivers automatic light control as part of an overall sustainable solution, generating energy savings thanks to its reactivity to natural light fluctuations. Control is managed by DALI sensors and the ensemble is complemented by Sollysta wiring accessories. Creating a space where modernity honours tradition and sustainability meets with architectural design is a noble challenge, we think that Navigation Square 1 in Cork rises to meet it well.
