Porcia's new facility inauguration marks a strategic milestone to advance Hager Groups’ growth ambitions.
19 April 2024
The opening of the new facility in Porcia (Italy) marks a significant milestone in expanding the Group’s production capacity for metal enclosures, facing increasing market demands and sustainability standards.
The new building has a surface of 9,000 sqm (including 720 sqm for social and office facilities), with an investment of 10.8 million euros to support our business growth especially for South Europe and the UK. The group’s Chairman, Daniel Hager, CEO, Sabine Busse, and CTO, Ralph Fuerderer, attended the opening event on April 18th along with Porcia's Plant manager, Valentina Rossetti, while welcoming 200 employees and local partners and representatives, including the mayor of the city, Mr. Marco Sartini. The occasion also marked the 30th anniversary of Hager Lumetal.
Global ambitions leveraging local expertise
The Porcia site specializes in main distribution boards (MDB) and sub-distribution boards (SDB). The new hall has dedicated areas for additional technical Solution Development Marketing and engineering teams and a product and solutions showroom to support the growing project business.
Sustainability and operational excellence
This project represents the group’s continuous commitment to operational excellence and sustainability. The choice of technology aims to implement a safer, eco-friendly workplace environment for our employees by streamlining internal workflows and implementing energy-efficient technologies. Integrating solar panels (462kW), reversible HVAC systems, and BMS monitoring connected to the KNX platform illustrates Hager Group's constant engagement in accelerating the adoption of sustainable practices while improving the working environment through innovative technologies.
These initiatives positively impact the environment and strengthen the enduring viability of our operational endeavour. Ralph Fuerderer states: “Sustainability is one of our growth strategy enablers. With the new extension, I am particularly proud to state that we have created a landmark operation of cutting-edge building energy efficiency and sustainability standards. The building's energy performance is certified as the highest possible in Italy, which means it produces enough energy from renewables to be rated as a near-zero energy building.”
