Global Compact

In April 2007, Hager Group signed up to the  Global Compact, a voluntary business initiative supervised by the United Nations (UN).

The aim of the pact, which now has over 10,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 130 countries, is to foster corporate social responsibility – and thus make the globalisation process more social and ecological.

Hager Group Global Compact

Global Compact - Hager Group committment to sustainability

…because certain values are not negotiable,

…because we believe in respecting people and our environment,

…because Corporate Social Responsibility is more than just words.

The 10 principles

By becoming a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Hager Group recognises UNGC’s values and actively commits to their implementation. The UNGC features ten universally accepted principles in the areas of:

human rights

labour

environment and

anti-corruption.

Hager Group approach

In fact, Global Compact values correspond to those held by Hager Group. For in terms of corporate social responsibility, we take our lead from the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations, from the Core Labour Standards of the International Labour Organisation and from the guidelines issued by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for international corporations. This approach being a matter of course at Hager, we strive within the sphere of our influence to make a sound contribution to safeguarding human rights. Moreover, we place great value on working with suppliers and business partners who also act in compliance with the ethical values set out in the UNGC.

The Communication on Progress Report (COP)
