Hager Group signs the Diversity Charter
27. November 2024
A Strong Commitment to Inclusion
Hager Group is proud to renew its commitment by signing the Diversity Charter once again. Already a signatory since 2018, we reaffirm with conviction our determination to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organisation. Created in 2004, the Diversity Charter is an open declaration of intent for any employer who, through a voluntary approach, aims to take concrete action to support diversity and go beyond legal requirements in combating discrimination.
Acting together for a workplace free from discrimination
As an international group with Franco-German roots, we consider diversity a collective strength. By signing the Diversity Charter, we reaffirm the commitment we made in 2018: to build an inclusive environment where everyone is respected and feel they belong. For Hager Group, diversity is not just a matter of ethics. It is a strategic lever, a source of creativity and performance, enabling us to learn and grow together while respecting our differences,” states Franck Houdebert, Chief Group Human Resources Officer.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Diversity Charter, Hager Group joins more than 5,300 other signatory companies, reaffirming our determination to reflect the richness of our society and create an environment where our employees can thrive.
This signature strengthens our internal practices and integrates Hager Group into a network of committed organisations, fostering the exchange of best practices, participation in European diversity initiatives, and our active contribution to a more inclusive future.
Diversity and Inclusion as a reflection of our values…
“This signature reflects our determination to take concrete action against discrimination and to promote a culture of respect that serves the collective interests of the company. The Charter guides us in defining measurable objectives for an inclusive workplace, enhancing our positive societal impact while embodying our group’s values: courage, authenticity, and integrity,” explains Matthieu Alexandropoulos, Corporate Social Responsibility Senior Director.
With courage, we commit to taking concrete actions against discrimination and addressing the challenges of diversity in the workplace. By embracing authenticity, we celebrate the unique talents of each individual and strive to welcome all with openness and kindness. Through integrity, we establish a culture of respect and transparency, essential for building trust with our stakeholders.
…Already in action at Hager Group
At Hager Group, we believe diversity and inclusion go beyond written commitments and translate into concrete, impactful actions. As part of our CSR strategy, we implement a variety of initiatives involving employees, candidates, and society at large to promote equity, inclusion, and respect for differences, including:
- Anti-Discrimination Training: Digital and in-person sessions to raise awareness among employees, including our "Let’s Practice" game, already embraced by more than 2,000 colleagues.
- “Let’s Talk” Reporting System:A dedicated mechanism to report inappropriate behaviour, accessible to employees, partners, and customers.
- Ethics Ambassadors: A network of 22 local representatives across 10 regions worldwide to support colleagues facing discrimination and unethical behaviour.
- Inclusive Recruitment: Organizing “CV-free job dating” events to expand employment opportunities and encourage career transitions.
- Gender Equality: Recognition by the Spanish magazine *Interiores* with the “Organizational Drive for Female Talent in the Electrical Sector” label, an increase in the proportion of female senior managers (from 15% to 19% between 2022 and 2023), and growth in women’s representation in leadership roles (from 14% to 18% over the same period).
- Inclusion of People with Disabilities: Projects like the eco-responsible collaboration with Sonnenhof and our Bischwiller site, career discovery days, regular awareness campaigns about recognising employees with disabilities, and adapting workstations.
- Support for Inclusive Sports:This year, we were honoured to support Joseph Fritsch, gold medalist at the 2024 Paralympic Games, embodying our commitment to inclusion at all levels.
These initiatives illustrate our vision of an inclusive and equitable organisation where everyone can thrive and contribute to a sustainable future. Each day, we advance toward our diversity and inclusion goals by living the values that inspire us to move forward together.
